OUR CHURCH

Our Chicago church was planted in August 2018 as a new church plant of Gracepoint Ministries, with the vision of planting an Acts 2 church in every college town!

Why college ministry? For many of us, college was a momentous and decisive time: Christ’s call to discipleship grabbed a hold of our hearts and lives, and we experienced the richness of Christian community. It’s an experience we hope to replicate for others.

Our church is part of Gracepoint Ministries, the family of all our ministries across different cities. Currently, we have ministries in BerkeleyDavisAustinMinneapolisRiversideSan DiegoLos AngelesIrvineSanta BarbaraSeattleSanta Cruz, Hsinchu, TaiwanPittsburghDMVChapel Hill.

A PLACE FOR EVERYONE

New to Christianity or not yet a Christ follower, but interested in what religion is all about? We invite you to “come and see” for yourself: the Bible, the God who reveals Himself, and the spiritual community of the church.

Our teams include recent college graduates and seasoned college ministry staff that moved from California to Chicago, Illinois to plant our church, a place we hope everyone—regardless of their religious background—can find answers to their questions about God, Jesus, and Christianity.

For many of us, college was a memorable time. Though each of us came with different expectations and worldviews, we all became inspired by the picture of the Acts 2 church—a community of believers for whom “church” was more than a building, but a people, doing life together through the highs and lows, striving to share God’s love and the good news of the gospel: the story of Jesus, someone more than just a figure from 2,000 years ago, but is still transforming people’s lives today.

Along the way, the Bible became more than just moral stories in an ancient book, but personal realities for us, and we found ourselves becoming part of God’s ongoing story of inviting people to “come and see”. It is this memorable experience we hope to share with others at our church in Chicago.
